Devotion is a dimension that will allow you to sail across even if you do not know the way

Once this happened, Shankaran Pillai was living in a barn with his grandfather. He would help his granpa in feeding the cattle and help him around. At the end of the day, his granpa would sit down to read the Bhagavad Gita and Shankaran Pillai would sit with him. This happened every single day. One day, he very curiously asked, Granpa, I sit with you everyday as you read Bhagavad Gita and I have heard it many times over but I did not understand it. His granpa did not pay heed to him and went out to feed the cattle. Shankaran was burning with curiosity. He came out asked, please tell me granpa! I want to know.

His granpa picked an old soiled wooden basket and asked him to get water in that. That wooden basket was used to carry coal. It became black and soiled overtime. Shankaran Pillai was shocked. How can I get water in this granpa? It cannot retain any water. His granpa insisted. He sighed and went to get water. By the time he reached, all the water dripped down the basket. See! I told you, we can’t carry water in this basket. His granpa asked him to keep trying. Second, third and fourth time too it was a failed attempt. The more harder he tried, the more sooner the water dripped down the basket. For the fifth time, he came huffing and puffing and told his granpa straight, it is impossible granpa. This basket cannot retain any water.

His granpa smiled. Did you see how the basket was when you first took it? It was completely dirty. Look at it now. Its shining bright. Everytime you got back the basket, it cleaned itself a bit more. Bhagavad Gita also does the same to you. You might not understand it completely at once but as you keep reading. It cleanses you.

Shambhavi Maha Mudra

Shambhavi does the same to me. It is so simple yet powerful. There is balance within. Mother to the world but not an iota of pride. Tiny speck in this universe but not insignificant. There’s a perfect balance of being the mother to the world and a tiny speck. There’s clarity of thought. Dissolving into 21 minutes of meditation heals the deepest wounds and answers the toughest questions.

From a mundane survival to Full on life

Before and after

Before I was fine. There was struggle but what’s life without a bit of drama? I had spiritual touch when I was in school. We had Bhagavad Gita recitations, invocations before meals, bhajans, keerthans, havan. Over time, with college and work I lost touch. But when I got initiated into Shambhavi, something exploded within. Everytime I volunteer, the experience deepens. Now the challenges are tougher than before but Sadhana lets me ride through it effortlessly.

Divine Intervention

I did not know what I was getting into. What I know as a concept is a living reality. What I know existed, I experience it with Sadhana. There are no boundaries, just me and my Divine experience. This sweetness of devotion burned everything inside and now I am open to newer dimensions. The emotion of devotion instills immense gratitude for everything around. Intensity, clarity, discipline, balance and gratitude has been redefined for me.

Anything but perfect

Inner Journey is not a direction but dimension. There are ups and downs, highs and lows. Its a roller coaster and lot of fun. I am anything but perfect. Everyday is a longing to become better. I am content of course but the longing to go beyond is always there. I want to be a better human being everyday. learn new things, be better. Sometimes it goes downhill too and then its balanced. That’s how the journey is. Its always the process not the outcome.
